Adath Israel Congregation is pleased to present The Eleventh Annual Sacks-Wilner Holocaust Education Program on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s program entitled “The Survivor and the Liberator will feature Holocaust survivor, Ernie Gross, and WWII Veteran and Dachau liberator, Don Greenbaum. They will share their stories. Don and Ernie first crossed paths on April 29th, 1945 in the Dachau concentration camp in Germany. Ernie was a 16-year-old teenager in line to be gassed by the Nazis. Don was a 20-year-old corporal in the U.S. army who came to liberate the camp.

The Sacks- Wilner Holocaust Education Program was established by a bequest from Dr. Arthur and Esther Sacks-Wilner who had been members of the Adath Israel Congregation. Both Dr. and Mrs. Sacks-Wilner had a life-long commitment to Judaism and the welfare of the greater Mercer County Jewish community.

Ernie Gross and Don Greenbaum became friends after meeting in Philadelphia in 2012. Rabbi Benjamin Adler, of Adath Israel Congregation, arranged for this program through the
Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center of Philadelphia which is the premier provider of Holocaust education programs in the Delaware Valley.

Adath Israel is located at 1958 Lawrenceville Rd., Lawrenceville, NJ08648. For further information, please go online at www.adathisraelnj.org, or call the synagogue at 609 296 4977.
