On Monday, October 16, 2017 at 7:00pm, Beth El Synagogue of East Windsor Israel Affairs Committee is sponsoring ‘A Gathering Storm? Israel and the new Middle Eastern (dis)order’. This event will include a briefing by Dr. Barak Mendelsohn followed by a general discussion. While the Arab uprisings upended the regional order, Israeli policy experts maintained that the regional chaos benefited Israel by weakening traditional threats from neighboring Arab countries. After the robust Russian intervention in Syria, it is not clear that this is still the case. Doctor Mendelsohn will survey Middle Eastern (dis)order and assess its implications for Israel national security.
