PJ Library sends free Jewish children's books to families across the world every month. We know that something magical happens when parents sit down together to read with their children. PJ Library shares Jewish stories that can help your family talk together about values and traditions that are important to you.

PJ Library was created by philanthropist Harold Grinspoon, who found inspiration in country singer Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which distributes books nationally to families with young children. In the winter of 2005, Grinspoon started sending Jewish books to 200 children in Western Massachusetts, where he lives. Since then, PJ Library in the United States and Canada has grown to nearly 150,000 subscribers.

Our North American program is part of a community of children receiving Jewish books every month all over the world. Currently, PJ Library and its affiliate programs are available in seven countries, and we're working to bring the experience to more Jewish families.
